Privacy notice
Last updated 6 October 2026
This notice says what personal information Gusset and this website collect, why, and what you can do about it. The short version: we keep your e-mail address and which licence you have. Your models, loads and results never leave your computer.
1. Who we are
Fabr Engineering Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 08826947), whose registered office is at Spelders Hill House, Brook, Ashford, Kent, England, TN25 5PB. We are the controller of the information described here. Contact: our support address.
2. What we collect
| What | When | Why, and the legal basis |
|---|---|---|
| Your e-mail address; your name and Google account identifier if you sign in with Google | When you sign in | To give you an account and a licence (performing our contract with you) |
| Your licence: Hobby or Pro, subscription status and renewal date, and Paddle's reference numbers for you and your subscription | When you buy, renew or cancel | To know what you are entitled to (contract) |
| For each computer you sign in: the computer's name, a random number Gusset makes up to identify the installation, and when it was first and last used | When Gusset signs in or renews its licence | To issue the licence and keep to two computers per account (contract; our legitimate interest in preventing misuse) |
| Server records: IP address, time, the page or request, browser type | Whenever the site or the licence service is used | Security and fault-finding (legitimate interest). Kept for no more than 30 days |
| What you write to us | When you e-mail us | To answer you (legitimate interest) |
3. If you sign in with Google
Gusset lets you sign in with your Google account instead of an e-mail link. This section says exactly what that involves.
- What we ask Google for. Only your basic profile: your e-mail address, your name, and the identifier Google gives your account. We ask for nothing else. Gusset cannot see or change your Gmail, contacts, calendar, Drive files or anything else in your Google account, and never sees your Google password.
- How we use it. Your e-mail address identifies your Gusset account and is where we write to you about your account or subscription. Your name is shown to you on your account page and in the program. The Google identifier lets us recognise you the next time you sign in. We use this information for nothing else: not for advertising, not for profiling, and not to train any artificial intelligence or machine learning model.
- Who we share it with. Nobody, except the providers in section 6 who store or process it on our behalf, and Paddle when you buy a subscription (your e-mail address only). We do not sell it or transfer it to anyone else.
- How it is stored and protected. In our account database on our hosting provider's servers in London, on an encrypted disk, reached only over encrypted connections. Only we can access it.
- How long we keep it, and how to delete it. Until you delete your account. Choose "Delete my account" on your account page, or write to our support address, and it is removed at once and from backups within 30 days. You can also withdraw Gusset's access at any time in your Google account under Security > Third-party apps and services.
Gusset's use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
4. What we do not collect
- Your models, materials, loads, results or reports. Gusset solves on your own computer and uploads nothing.
- How you use the program: there is no usage tracking or analytics in Gusset or on this site.
- Your payment card. Payments go to Paddle; we never see the card.
- Anything about the hardware of your computer beyond the name you have given it.
Gusset has an optional assistant that works with a Claude API key of your own. If you turn it on, what you type and a description of your study are sent to Anthropic under your own agreement with them. They are not sent to us.
5. Cookies
This site sets one cookie, to keep you signed in, and a short-lived one while you sign in with Google. Both are strictly necessary, so no consent banner is shown. There are no advertising or analytics cookies. Paddle's checkout, when you open it, may set cookies of its own to take the payment and prevent fraud.
6. Who else receives it
- Paddle.com, the merchant of record, receives your e-mail address and your order when you buy Pro. It is a controller in its own right for the payment; see Paddle's privacy notice.
- Google, if you choose to sign in with Google, tells us your e-mail address and name. We ask for nothing else and get no access to your Google account.
- Fly.io, our hosting provider, runs the server and stores the account database, in London, on our instructions.
We do not sell personal information or share it for advertising. Where a provider handles it outside the United Kingdom, we rely on UK adequacy regulations or the UK's standard contractual clauses.
7. How long we keep it
For as long as you have an account. You can delete your account from your account page at any time: your details and your computers' records are then removed from our systems at once and from backups within 30 days. Records of purchases are kept by Paddle, and by us where the law requires, for six years for tax purposes.
8. Your rights
You have the right to see the information we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, to have its use restricted, to receive a copy you can take elsewhere, and to object to uses based on our legitimate interests. Write to our support address; we will answer within a month. If you are unhappy with how we have dealt with your information you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
9. Children
Accounts are for people aged 16 or over.
10. Changes
If this notice changes in a way that matters we will tell you by e-mail before the change takes effect.
